We were advised to stay at this hotel by a local "tourist information" centre. We booked for 3 nights before seeing the place.BIG MISTAKE!!!The hotel is located up a grubby side street. The staff at reception were disinterested and spoke in Thai ,making us feel left out when we tried to check in.The whole hotel is dingy and in serious need of a makeover. The room was filthy with old, mismatched furniture, covered in scratches and marks. The carpet was filthy too with stains and cigarette burns. You don't want to touch anything in the grotty rooms, let alone stay there.A list of charges for damaging anything in the rooms is laughable. The prices for replacing anything are sky high.Breakfast was adequate and staff serving were fine.Again there is a sign warning you that you will be charged if you overfill your plate and leave your breakfast. This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in,it's dirty, dark, smelly, has no view, the staff are rude and unhelpful...I could go on forever.Read the other reviews, they are so awful they're laughable.
We arrived here yesterday from phuket. We went from 5 star hotel to this junk. The staffs are not helpful. Barely speaks English. I booked this hotel 5 months in advance because I didn't want to worry about getting a hotel once we arrived in bangkok. Really all that matters and what I really expected based on the photos I've seen too was just good location, good service and obviously clean room. When we arrived here they gave us 2 single beds in a small room, cockroaches and rubbish (receipts, plastic) from previous people that used the room. Toilet is disgusting. Hot water not hot enough. And low [--] shower. When I went at the reception to complain and showed them the print out of my hotel booking( bcos most of the things on the list isn't what we have in the room such as hair dryer, shaving mirror, sofa bed and obviously a dbl bed.), they look unhappy to help and I think the manager also said ("ok ok change hotel) then he said all room are the same but we will move u to a double bed today because yesterday all rooms are booked". Considering I booked it months ago they should have enough notice to vacant the correct room that I booked. The list can go on. I'm very disappointed. Breakfast isn't that good either. Just like I said any other hotel would be better.
we stayed for a couple of nights in this hotel after staying for 4 nights at bangkok city suites nearby.we chose this hotel due to its central location.the rooms were clean though they looked a bit dated.the view from the window was a lot of junk lying around the carpets had lot of stains though they seemed to be clean otherwise good wifi, the best part was the lovely breakfast.they had good variety and service was impeccable.the staff ensured that everything was refilled in time unlike the pathetic staff at bangkok city suites who were always nonexistent at the breakfast counters my complain for this hotel was the terrible bed.it is a springy kind of bed which makes a lot of noise when you toss over the side, thereby disturbing your partner who may be fast asleep also the hotel does not have a good tour desk, bangkok city suites had a very good travel desk offering reasonably priced tours all over babgkok but we found savari international run by a srilankan gentleman just outside the hotel who gave us amazing prices for siam niramit and dreamworld.the gentleman and his lady staff are really nice people.i would highly recommend savari for booking al your tours
Having checked out of the Ramada my partner was suddenly called away to a meeting at her Thai Insurance company, and unexpectedly becalmed in Bkk I headed for my 'standby' hotel, the PJ. Paying the not inconsiderable 'walk in rate' I insisted on a front room with a decent bed. I won't reveal the room number as it will be heavily subscribed if I do, but the bed was great, air noisy but effective, bathroom functional (without the tiny moths) & a view of the Baiyoke Tower with a colossal BMW advert trying unsuccessfully to persuade me of something or other about their rather creasy designs. The star of the show is the wonderful Mai Tai in the bar (b.o.g.o.f, happy hour is curiously 6pm to 8pm) followed by two Rusty Nails (bar complete with live band) that could stop a horse. Great. Breakfast is good, with both asian and western choices, so my usual cheese & tomato omelette worked well. I enjoyed my 'one nighter' with the only slight downside being an unusually brusque reception on arrival. Anyone for charm school?
The hotel is clean enough...Not bad for family who bring their kids. The hotel room is not as good as five star hotel. But Enough to sleep.. The breakfast is OK .. All i can say is : NOT BAD FOR BUDGET HOTEL Please don't expect more than 2 star hotel...
This nightmare hotel was a recomendation from the Turist Agency in the airport. We paid for one night in advance and we took a taxi. When we arrive, the rood people from the front desk ask us for 1.000 bhat of deposit for the "minibar" in the room. We didn`t have the money so we say to the woman (it was 11 pm) that we were tired, that it was too late to go and find an ATM to get the cash, and that we do not want to eat or drink anythong from the minibar. The woman treat us terrible!!!!!!!! in the rudest way you can treat someone. She start saying "YOU WANT TO SLEEP HERE OR YOU WANT TO GO??", Whe where in shock, we try to ask for our money back, 1.300 baht, and the woman and the other man refused, they said if we want the money back we have to go back to the airport agency and ask for our money there. They start making jokes in thai about us, they send a person from the hotel to take all the thing from the frigobar out, making us feel terrible. We call to the airport agency and they didnt give us a solution. We end up staying just because it was late and we didnt want to loose the money, but seriously, I have never been treated so bad in my life. We arrive happy, tired from our flight, but very happy about arriving to bangkok and this is what we found, poeple from the front desk shouting to us, telling us to go and sleep somewere else, not listening to us..horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! More frustating is to make myself understand, I speack spanish, Im from Chile, so try to be understood in english and try to be respected and listened in my right, as a costumere that already pay and cannot be treated like that was frustating.
We were introduced to this hotel by the hotel reservation desk in Don Muang airport counter. We choosed this hotel due to the picture on the brouchure they gave us which really look nice. We took the A1 bus from the airport to mo chit station and then to phaya tai. From there, you can change to the other train line and go down on the next station. The hotel is strategic. It's in between all shopping areas such as pratunam market and platinum mall as well as it is walking distance (about 20-30 minutes to renaissance hotel or even faster if you do brisk walking) to most of the bigger mall such as central world. The hotel is old but somehow still nice if your expectations isn;t so high. Just take note that this is not a 5 stars hotel like renaissance so I hope you don't put it side by side to compare. The bell boy is very helpful, the breakfast is amazing and overall our stay was pleasant. All in all, it is old and there are definitely things that need improvement but don't write this hotel of if you're visiting bangkok.
I booked this hotel by chance. First impression of the my room was not the best. Next day (after my complainings) they gave another room as I was going to stay there for 1 week. Except front desk the rest personnel is very kind. Breakfast is very good and especially the cook who makes omelets on demand. The location is also good as the hotel is close to everything. Another plus in this hotel is the gym and in the night the life music at the bar.
This is an old hotel where the staff are working hard to maintain. The wifi was free and good. The TV was old and the channels did not have much of a choice in English. They have a maintenance team on the ball and they keep fixing things that break down and housekeeping also do a good job in keeping the place clean. I had to report the bathroom exhaust not working, which they promptly replaced the next day and in another room, a shower which was old and clogged that was dribbling water which they also promptly replaced with a new one. The beds and linen were good and clean. They take great pride in their buffet breakfast which is a good spread for the start of the day, but you will soon tire of the same menu. What finally got me to leave the place was the old plumbing in the building - the drains in the wash basin, bathroom and bath tub delivered foul gas. I had my room changed and found it was the same in the other room too. This seems to be a problem they are living with, as I notice
Fantastic location but apparently the hotel is under renovation and some rooms are still in bad shape. However the room I got on the 2nd floor is nice and newly refurbished unlike the one that my sisters-in law had on the 3rd floor which is dark and unappealing. The buffet breakfast spread is good though. Bell boys and receptionists are very helpful and friendly. Hotel is near to all major wholesale mall, namely the Indra Mall (next to Indra Regent Hotel), Watergate Pavillion , Watergate Palladium, Platinum Mall and the old Pratunam Market. This hotel is also walking distance to Central World & Big C . Best of all, it is near to the Airport Link ( fast train to Suvarnabhumi Airport).
