Playa Las Gatas is the setting for this wonderful cabin with all the comforts but keeping its wild and rustic side as well. Starlit bonfires, bohemian nights, morning and afternoon swims, fishing days and sunsets are the quintessential plans for this place.

We have a menu with options for you to choose your daily meals. We can buy the grouceries and products you need from the local market and supermarket. This for an additional cost of delivery. It is important to consider that there are no shops or supermarkets in Playa las Gatas.

The boats during your stay from the house to town, have a cost of $300 pesos (around 15 usd), up to 8 people. Please consider 1 to 2 hours notice in order to arrange the panga transportation.

Boats requested between 8:00pm and 6:00am can be scheduled in advance but consider that they duplicate their cost. There are no local boats available during the night. Emergencies only.

Local boats are available as well from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the local pier located about a 15 minute walk from the cottage, they usually have a cost of $100 pesos per person per trip.

Casa Owen is for you if you like to enjoy the natural environment, here you can hear the cooing of the waves, wakeup with the singing of the birds and enjoy the sunsets in the pool.

Swimming in the mornings between 7 and 9:30 is the best time since there is practically no one. (bring your gogles)

Playa de las Gatas sometimes and depending on the dates can be very crowded, that is why on holidays we recommend visiting it in the mornings.

Also, you can take a kayak and sail Playa de las Gatas or visit the other 4 beaches of the bay.

Between the months of May to September with luck there may be swell for surfing!

Playa las Gatas is an emblematic site of Zihuatanejo for its blue and calm waters.

A traditional legend says that a Calzontzin (emperor purepecha) ordered to place a barrier of giant stones to be able to swim without the waves with his family.

There are 2 complementary kayaks with which you can explore the bay and visit other beaches. It is very important that you review the guide that shows how to navigate the beach since in some parts of the reef the wave can be dangerous and throw you into the corals.

Playa de las Gatas is a very quiet beach most of the year, you will find beach bars to eat that also offer water activities.

Being a place that is reached by panga, before 10am and after 6pm the beach has very few people.

Since the location of the cottage is at Playa las Gatas, it is important to consider that there are no stores near by. The boat is available after its scheduled for any emergency.

We are located in a place of limited access, as it is only boat acces. For transportation during your stay from the house to town, the panga (local boat) has a cost of 15usd, up to 10 people. Please consider 1 to 2 hours notice in order to arrange a panga.

Local boats are available as well from 9:00am to 5:00pm every hour at the pier.
